A business and Investment Advisor, with forty years of experience in 42 countries; having represented some of the wealthiest people, most profitable companies and global projects.
From International contracts for energy, defense, commodities, services to arranging joint ventures, research and development in the most advanced technologies.
There is nothing average or ordinary about SaLee' Amina. She started as one of the few women in international high-finance private wealth management, and soon became one of the only women in high level negotiations on four continents, specializing in business in the Arabian Gulf.
SEVERAL DECADES OF SUCCESS IN BUSINESS - AN AMERICAN IN THE MIDDLE EAST
The following are a few of many examples of SaLee' Amina's business career:
SaLee' Amina developed a remarkable reputation of not being impressed with wealth, nor motivated by money. Her main focus had always been to consider the best interests of everyone involved, to focus on mutual cooperation and benefit, and to endeavor to always 'do the right thing'.
SaLee's ability with investments for the Royals & Arab leaders was staggering, sometimes described as almost supernatural. Through her career, SaLee' Amina traveled the world on Royal jets, as part of the entourage of numerous Arab Princes & Sheikhs, ALWAYS accompanied by her children. She never married, nor had any sort of 'personal' relationships with any of the dozens of Sheikhs & Princes she advised. In fact, after she converted to Islam in 1981 and divorced from her American non-Muslim husband, except for four months of a short lived 'arranged' marriage, she never again married, nor dated. Her life exclusively focused on Islam, humanitarian work, her careers & her children.
During the past 30 years, Dr. Amina has been featured in magazine articles and newspapers, including the Chicago Tribune, Washington Post, Peninsula Times Tribune (San Francisco,) London Daily Mail, Australian Sun, 8 Days magazine, Asian Post magazine, Pakistan Link, Dubai Emirates News, Gulf News, Gulf Times, AI-Sayedity magazine (Saudi,) AI-Majala Magazine (Saudi,) Bahrain Gulf Mirror, California Coaster and several others.
SaLee' has appeared on several TV stations, including Fox News, C-Span, CNN, WTTW Chicago, NBC, Pakistan TV, Middle East Broadcasting (MBC,) Lebanese Broadcasting Corporation (LBC,) Dubai TV, WOR New York, Saudi TV, and cable stations, such as I-views, Bridges TV and Islamicity TV.
SALEE' AMINA HAS SPECIAL TIES WITH ARABIAN COUNTRIES & ISLAMIC CULTURE
A few of many examples of the unique relationship between the Arabian Gulf & SaLee':
(This is an actual life-sized photo of a man holding the Star of Peace diamond)
THE STORY OF THE STAR OF PEACE DIAMOND - 1981 - SaLee' most definitely was the agent on the Star of Peace diamond, which was a matter witnessed by many. While SaLee' was in her jewelry factor in Geneva, Switzerland, she was requested by Union Bank of Switzerland to represent the Star of Peace diamond; which was being marketed by Harry Winston Jewelers.
The marketing of the Star of Peace diamond was carried out ON BEHALF OF IT'S OWNERS, through Harry Winston jeweler's sales director, Manfredo "Fred" Horowitz & its international sales director, Serge Fradkoff. Serge shared an interest in very fine horses, as did SaLee', who purchased over 500 black Arabian horses for an Arab sheikh. They also shared an interest in extraordinary gems, jewelry & precious gem collections.
It took dozens of trips between the Arabian Gulf and Switzerland to complete the transaction, which was handled in several steps. In fact, the first potential buyer was a Saudi royal, but at the last moment, he changed his mind, and the diamond was offered by SaLee' to her friend, His Highness Sheikh Issa Al-Khalifa, who was then the Emir of Bahrain. SaLee' had been good friends with Mohammed Jamal, who was an adviser to Sheikh Khalifa. But, the diamond was so large and perfectly flawless, so, the only thing one could do with it is to either put it on display or keep it in a safe. This limited the potential buyers to those who did not mind spending double digit millions for s gem that would simply be locked away in a safe.
SaLee' then discussed the potential sale of the Star of Peace diamond with His Excellency Ambassador Mahdi Al-Tajir of Dubai, who SaLee knew well and she had previously presented several other extraordinary gems and unique jewelry to him. Originally, SaLee' had shown Mahdi Al-Tajir an antique necklace with multiple long strands of giant pearls, for $1 million. Mahdi asked if SaLee would like to see his personal collection of pearls, and led her to a room with a pool table sized display, holding a giant mound of pearls. SaLee' realized she would need to find bigger and better gems to offer as investments for Mahdi AlTajir & her other Gulf clients.
But, the 'Star of Peace' was only meant for someone of absolutely extraordinary wealth. Anyone less than a multi-billionaire would not qualify. His Highness, Sheikh Zayed, having the highest income in the world at the time, was an obvious best choice.
SaLee' then requested of her friend, Saeed Al-Otaiba, of Abu Dhabi, to place a bank guarantee at the National Bank of Bahrain, so as to allow more time for His Highness Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al-Nahyan, the President & Founder of United Arab Emirates (UAE), to view the diamond; which Saeed did. Saeed was a best friend of Sheikh Zayed and a person of integrity, humility and a joyful personality.
SaLee' then arranged for the diamond to be sold to His Highness Sheikh Zayed of United Arab Emirates, who was interested in buying SaLee' home on the lake in Geneva. Her home on Lake Lemen (called "Lake Geneva" by some) had been visited by several of the royals, including His Highness Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayed.
One of SaLee's clients, to whom she was an investment advisor, His Excellency Sheikh Ahmed Bin Hamed was a close friend to Sheikh Zayed, and also was his maternal cousin. It was Sheikh Ahmed who arranged the first of several meetings between His Highness Sheikh Zayed and SaLee'. However, SaLee' did not approve of certain people who surrounded Sheikh Zayed, believing they were being dishonest with Sheikh Zayed, so she solicited the help of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed.
SaLee' had first seen Sheikh Mohammed in London, when he was a student at Sandhurst military academy, and she was a protege' of Sir Harry Schultz, the famous financial advisor. Also,m SaLee' was a financial partner for a short time with Steve Cole, of London, in a business called "High Rollers," which rented Rolls Royces, with drivers, to elite clientele, especially embassies. Steve had been SaLee's chauffeur, and who previously had been chauffeur to Sheikh Mohammed.
Eventually, the Star of Peace diamond was brought under armed guards from Geneva to New York City, where SaLee' Amina was traveling with the business entourage of His Highness Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan. From there, the entourage & the Sheikh traveled to Los Angeles on the United Arab Emirates Royal Jet. In Los Angeles, SaLee' advised Sheikh Sultan on investing $2. 5 million in rare Chinese antiques, which he purchased from the Antique gallery that had at the time been located in the Regent Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills, California, which was SaLee's home town for nearly all of her adult life.
The two guards who had taken the diamond originally from Switzerland to New York (Rober B. & Will T.), and then continued with the diamond to Los Angeles were joined by a third guard in Los Angeles, Kenny. The diamond was constantly under the care of three guards (Kenny L., Roger B. & Will T.). The guards first payment for services rendered was paid in a briefcase of cash, amounting to over $90,000.00. Later, Kenny wrote a book, which he dedicated to SaLee'.
Then, from Los Angeles, the diamond traveled with His Highness Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, on the Royal Jet, to Hawaii. A business stop was made at the Ilikai Hotel, where the entourage had a outdoor barbeque, with Sheikh Sultan, during a torrential rainstorm. Then, the Royal Jet traveled to Fiji, then to Singapore, then to Abu Dhabi.
Throughout that trip with His Highness Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayed, wherever the Royal Jet went, the Star of Peace diamond went. The diamond traveled with the guards throughout the trip, except when it had to be smuggled through customs in Fiji, at the suggestion of the official Fiji customs security guards, who feared for the lives of those carrying a $22 million diamond. Only a few in the royal entourage knew how SaLee' transported the diamond into Fiji, without it being detected. It was the topic of many jokes thereafter, among the inner circles of His Highness Sheikh Zayed & SaLee' Amina.
When they arrived on the Royal Jet in Abu Dhabi, with the Star of Peace diamond, SaLee' was registered into the Abu Dhabi Intercontinental Hotel as a V.I.P. guest of the UAE Armed Forces.
The three guards who had traveled on the Royal Jet with SaLee' and His Highness Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayed, and about 15 other people in the entourage (which also included Matar Khamis, who was then working for the Private Department of His Highness Sheikh Zayed), were offered the profoundly generous hospitality by His Highness Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayed.
Sheikh Sultan invited the guards to be his guest for one month in Abu Dhabi. SaLee' paid much of the hotel bill for Roger & Will, because they consumed huge amounts of alcohol, which cost SaLee' nearly $10,000.00. Kenny is a Black Belt bodyguard and former weightlifting champion, who has known SaLee' for decades, and who was assigned the position solely upon her recommendation. He continued in UAE as a bodyguard for other distant members of the Royal families.
Upon arrival in Abu Dhabi, the diamond was then viewed by His Highness, Sheikh Zayed, who had previously only seen it in photographs. Shortly thereafter, the diamond was again put back on the market, through Harry Winston Jewelers. This is typical for collector gems, which often trade hands many times, typically being sold for a profit with each new deal.
It had been claimed by some that a man named Thomas Loader had previously owned the diamond, but SaLee' had never heard of him. Also, it had been claimed that a wealthy man bought it more recently for his girlfriend, and had it mounted in a necklace. This would be likely be impossible, sine a FLAWLESS diamond is purely a 'collector' gem & is NEVER mounted in jewelry, because it must be 'scored' to be securely held in the piece of jewelry, which would cause it to immediately lose most of its value, since it would no longer be 'Flawless."
It would be impossible, and extremely foolish, to mount a FLAWLESS in jewelry because a gem must be scored or drilled to attach to a jewelry mounting, which would eliminate its value as a "flawless" diamond. In fact, Harry Winston jewelers were so concerned about even any surface scratch (which would destroy its value as a "flawless" diamond), that they created a substitute 'fake' diamond in the same dimensions as the Star of Peace, which was kept in New York, for display purposes; while the actual diamond was kept in the safe of a secure & confidential location.
It should be noted that there was a second 'copy' of the Star of Peace, for display purposes, but that display stone, albeit beautiful, was NOT a flawless diamond.
It has been said that an malicious man, named Mike McClaughry, has tried to deeply slander SaLee' Amina by pretending that her claims of selling the Star of Peace were false. In fact, the devious Mike McClaughry tries to fabricate lies against the formidable SaLee' Amina in an to detract from her true celebrity, respect & position of high integrity. To that aim, he has created a website over 120 pages long, and adds to it continually, in a very desperate attempt to bring SaLee' down, despite that he admits he only knew her for four days! (He fails to mention that the 4 days occurred nearly twenty years ago, when SaLee' and her son were looking to buys (on behalf of a client) a piece of property in Coeur d'Lane, Idaho, which Mike tried to convince them to donate to him, a complete stranger to them! Furious that he could not connive the donation out of them, he embarked on an intense slander campaign against her (also called a "Black P.R. [public relations] campaign). The McClaughry's try to invent suspicion about SaLee', claiming she is "false".
But, in fact, the only thing false is Mr. McClaughry, who had previously been a professional at "Black P.R.", and his official job was literally to create bad publicity against perceived enemies of the organization where he worked as "Info" Officer of a "Guardian's Office".
In fact, it is possible that the pernicious Mike McClaughry & his off-the-wall paranoid wife, Virginia, are still now operating, surreptitiously, in that same exact position for the same exact organization; which has been the subject of much scrutiny lately. The McClaughrys state that they left that organization (thrown out in disgrace is a better description of it, however). They claim that their new 'mission' in life is attacking that organization. But, contrary to McClaughry's numerous totally absurd statements, SaLee' is NOT a member of the organization that previously employed them, and she holds no standing for or against it.
Nevertheless, the documented facts stand up for the truth of the matter that SaLee' Amina (Auberien-Barnes) Mohammed was definitely the agent for the Star of Peace World's Largest Flawless Diamond. Unfortunately, for someone as successful as SaLee' Amina, there are bound to be envious enemies, who try to create slander against the over-achievers, since people who are total failures in life can not bear to watch other's success, so they stay up nights thinking of ways to bring them down, and sadly become obsessed with doing so.
Luckily, SaLee' is no stranger to those corrupt or hateful people who have tried to oppress her, nor has she ever cowered from them. Despite adversity, SaLee' has always continued forward - focused, positive, productive and determined to make a meaningful difference in the world. Despite the malicious envy of slanderers, she has proven, time and time again that "You Can't Keep a Good Girl Down!" SaLee' has gone up against some of the worst, and she is still standing.
"The Golden Girl" - A Distinguished Career
EXTRAORDINARY TIES TO OPEC, THE ARABS & THE ISLAMIC WORLD
In 1979, while living in Beverly Hills, California, SaLee' Amina (Aubrien-Barnes) Mohammed became known as "The Golden Girl", because of her association with gold mining, gold refining, gold trading, gold bullion, gold shares and gold jewelry. Several people started their own gold jewelry sales companies under her mentoring.
The World Gold Association (WGA) elected SaLee' as Vice President for all United States gold transactions, while Sir Harry Schultz was Vice President International. Other than SaLee', there were no other female members of the WGA (except for the wife of Sir Harry).
The World Gold Association relocated into The Pacific Coast Stock Exchange building, on Spring street, in Los Angeles; which was purchased by 'Avatar,' (SaLee's corporation and she was President of it, until others took over that entity). The building had housed the only actual stock exchange on the West coast. Shortly thereafter, SaLee' relinquished all control of Avatar, and operated from the European headquarters of The World Gold Association in Lausanne, Switzerland.
It was in Laussane, Switzerland (near her house & jewelry factory in Geneva) where she later met His Highness, Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al-Nahyan, the President & Founder of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the Ruler of Abu Dhabi; who later hired her to handle his investments in Europe & America.
While Speaking at a Finance Conference in Acapulco , as one of the experts on gold investments, Sir Harry Schultz was so impressed by her presentations that he immediately insisted that SaLee' be involved in everything he was doing. Sir Harry was also known as 'The God Guru', & he commanded the highest hourly consultation fee in the world. The conference was also attended by Hussain Al-Sayegh, who was with the 'Abu Dhabi Investment Authority', which was the first introduction to the Arabian Gulf for SaLee'.
Soon after arriving in Switzerland, SaLee' became a popular advisor to private banks & financial institutions. She noticed that many of the Arabian Gulf investors were being referred to her, partly because most of the wealth management bankers there were Jewish, but SaLee' had been raised Catholic; but, also because she was producing higher returns on investment than anyone else.
SaLee' had always studied all religions and cultures and was fascinated with foreign travel, so she extensively researched Islam, and chose it as her main focus.
SaLee' received a written commendation from His Majesty King Khalid Bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud, the King of Saudi Arabia, at a time when the king had never issued a commendation to any American, nor to any woman.
SaLee's first visit to the Arabian Gulf brought her to Dubai, where she was a Business Consultant & Co-Producer with a film company that was sponsored by His Highness Sheikh Hasher Al-Maktoum, of the Royal family of Dubai, who owned Al-Bayan newspaper & the AlFajir shopping center & several businesses, including filmmaking. The company produced several local television commercials, including one for 'Masafi' bottled water, which won a 'Clio' award! The Clio awards are for TV commercials what the Oscars are for film, the Emmy's for TV, the Tony's for Live theatre & the Grammy's for music. (See SaLee's resume in Film / TV / Theatre / Music on this website).
SaLee' negotiated some of the largest and most unique gem collections in the world, including the "Star of Peace," the world's largest flawless diamond - 170.49 carats, for $22 million USD; which thereafter was re-marketed by her client, an Arab leader (1981) (See 'The Story of the Star of Peace', on this website).
As an Investment Advisor, SaLee' directed multi-billions in foreign investment capital into the U.S. economy, and implemented investment programs that created thousands of jobs and revitalized communities; for which she received awards & honorariums.
SaLee' received commendations within her careers and as a distinguished member of society, including from national and international organizations and high ranking leaders; as well as from a President, a Governor, a King and from government entities.
SaLee' has held positions that were never previously held by a woman.
In the 1980s, News articles appeared which interviewed SaLee' Amina with the director of OPEC & the oil minister for Saudi Arabia, His Excellency Sheikh Zaki Yamani. In the UAE, His Excellency Sheikh Mana Al-Otaiba became oil Minister. Mana was the eldest son of SaLee's friend, Sheikh Saeed Al-Otaiba.
Throughout the 1980's, she was often called upon to negotiate oil contracts (including all of the foreign holdings of Agip Petroli [The National Oil Company of Italy]), joint ventures between international companies and defense contracts.
One of SaLee's friends in Abu Dhabi was His Excellency Sheikh Saeed Al-Otaiba was instrumental in advising her on matters regarding which personalities among the royals are most suited for which types of business. SaLee' Amina's daughter attended school in Abu Dhabi with Saeed Al-Otaiba's daughter, Muza; and Saeed's son, Otaiba, became friends with SaLee' Amina's son during business trips to London, accompanied by the families. SaLee's children were an integral part of her life, accompanying her all over the world, flying on royal jets, sitting in on her business meetings. (See the 'Photo Gallery' on this website of SaLee's life in Arabia, & see her 'Family Life' photos on this website)
In 1998, the Deputy Consul of the Saudi Embassy in Los Angeles assigned her the position of Honorary Ambassador of Goodwill for Islamic Culture. (See photo on this website of SaLee' Amina with His Excellency Ambassador Mohammed Al-Saloom of Saudi Arabia.
By age 28, Dr. SaLee' Amina was reported to be one of the world's highest paid financial advisors (at $1,000.00 per hour). She had been discovered by Sir Harry Schultz, who was the highest paid financial advisor; who was impressed with her speech at an Acapulco Finance Conference on the topic of gold investments. She was personally hired as an investment advisor to the man who had been listed in the 'Guinness Book of World Records' as having the highest income, His Highness Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan AI-Nahayan (President of the United Arab Emirates, Emir [Ruler] of Abu Dhabi,) whose income reached tens of billions per year from personal oil revenues alone, excluding additional billions from his other lucrative assets, which are managed by 18,000 people worldwide.
In 2001, Sheikh Zayed's hold on this title in the 'Guinness Book' was replaced with the Sultan of Brunei, who also hired SaLee' Amina (as a designer, not for investments) and had her do his portrait in solid gold. The listing then went to the king of Saudi Arabia at the time, His majesty King Fahd. Dr. SaLee' Amina also did some work for him and for the previous King of Saudi Arabia, King Khalid.
In Saudi Arabia, her commercial business partner (until his death) was His Highness Prince Mutaaz Bin Saud Al-Saud, son of His Majesty, the late King Saud. In Kuwait, she did business with the Secretary General of the Supreme Counsel and created a portrait in gold of the Emir of Kuwait, as well as the Emirs of Bahrain and Qatar and the Presidents of Yemen and UAE. She eventually did various work in several Middle Eastern countries, usually in the capacity of an investment adviser, sometimes as a consultant on projects, and occasionally as a designer.
In 1984, she was a consultant to the President of Nigeria, Shehu Shagari, on the capital city of "Abuja" master plan and Development project. Through her affiliated architectural firm in Rome, Italy, she also consulted in construction of the Ministry of Defense.
Since 1980, Dr. SaLee' Amina was a consultant to several banks, such as Security Pacific Bank (then the 6th largest in the world, now merged With Bank of America, which is #1), Trade Development Bank (France), British Bank of the Middle East (now merged with HSBC), Union Bank of California, Union Bank of Switzerland, Dubai Islamic Bank, Banc Privee' (Suisse) and Lombard and Odier (Suisse).
Dr. SaLee' Amina's clients have included two Presidents, two Kings, two Sultans, three Emirs, one Queen, one Empress, a Shah, two Princesses, several Princes, a Secretary General of the Supreme Council, a Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, a Minister Of Information, a Minister of Culture, a Minister of Tourism, a Minister Of Defense, a President of the Chamber of Commerce, a head of OPEC and several Fortune 500 companies.
In 1982, when she was personally hired by the wealthiest man in the world (His Highness Sheikh Zayed Al-Nahayan, President of United Arab Emirates) to handle investments in Europe and America, the overall task required over 18,000 workers, worldwide. Sheikh Zayed announced to his 'majlis' that she is one of the smartest people he had ever met, as clever as a thousand foxes, yet more 'Bedu' than the Bedu (Bedouin.) In that the heritage of Sheikh Zayed himself was Bedouin, this was considered a great compliment. At first, those working around Sheikh Zayed did not agree with her role in investment, due to being a young American woman, and there were continual problems to overcome; but eventually, they grew to accept her, explaining, "She looks like a woman, but, she thinks like a man!" (This was meant to be a compliment.)
In London, England, Dr. SaLee' Amina was the Director and an owner of "Kirk and Kirk" construction, the municipal contractor of choice for the City of London, had been in business over 128 years and employed 363 workers. Along with building fire departments, schools, police stations, post offices, and government buildings, Kirk and Kirk's clients included Kodak, British Telecom, and the complete remodeling of "Harrods" department store, the largest department store in the world, owned by the Al-Fayed family.
Having a keen eye for investment properties and businesses, she had partnered with an Arab Sheikh in purchasing a hotel in Beverly Hills. Every one of the properties and investments which she had recommended invariably increased in value by several hundred percent.
As an investment advisor, SaLee' Amina always observed absolute confidentiality. Even brothers within the same family or a father & son in the same family or two cousins did not know anything about the other's investments, because SaLee' Amina never would disclose anything about anyone's investments. (After someone died might be an exception, or if permission was given, or if a matter would be mentioned for a specific very good reason, such as to establish the truth in a matter that was under suspicion or being questioned.)
Sometimes, SaLee' Amina spent vast amounts of time and talent to select only the absolute best investments for her clients. Usually, they followed her advice, and when they did, they invariably made very profitable returns. But, upon occasion, people listened to multiple sources of advice. In the end, whenever they failed to follow SaLee' Amina's advice, they regretted it.
Investments for a few million often rose to several million, and sometimes the profits were more than doubled almost yearly.
Rarely, but occasionally, people cheated her or failed to pay her. Usually, if she was advising other people within the same family, she took no action, out of respect for the relatives of the person who cheated her. Only one of her clients had cheated her almost always, but because of his special position with a certain family & her loyalty to his cousins and father, she ignored his obsessively untrustworthy characteristics.

Dr. SaLee’ Amina Mohammed
Four decades as a Delegate, Honorary Ambassador, Negotiator
In 1981, SaLee’ Louise Aubrien-Barnes had become ‘SaLee’ Amina Mohammed’ in Dubai Islamic Court, while working in the U.A.E.
SaLee’ Amina was formerly known as ‘SaLee’ Louise Aubrien-Barnes’, before adapting her name in the Dubai Islamic Court to ‘SaLee’ Amina Mohammed’, in 1981, after she converted from ‘Catholic’ Christian to Islam. The name “Amina Mohammed” was suggested by the Chairman of the Dubai Islamic Bank, where SaLee’ was a consultant. The rational for the name was that it means ‘Trustworthy’ and ‘Well Respected’ or ‘Well Spoken Of,’ which the Chairman said was the known reputation of SaLee’. That year, SaLee’ adopted the name ‘SaLee’ Amina Mohammed’ at the Dubai Islamic Court, UAE.
SaLee’ Amina’s Long History with Saudi Arabia, and the Arabian Gulf
A written Commendation was issued to SaLee’, by order of His Majesty King Khalid Bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud:
In 1981, Dr. SaLee' Amina received a written commendation from the King of Saudi Arabia (His Majesty, King Khaled Bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud). The king praised her work in bringing information about Islam to the West, and in her correcting of misunderstandings about Islam. At the time, she was told that the King had never previously issued a written commendation to an American, nor to a woman. The commendation was presented to SaLee’ Amina by Saudi Ambassador to UAE, His Excellency Ambassador Al-Romeh.
In 1998, His Majesty King Fahd Bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud invited SaLee’ Amina (Mohammed) to the inauguration of the King Fahd mosque, in Culver City, California, where she was a guest speaker.
His Majesty King Fahd Bin Abdul Aziz Al - Saud
Dr. SaLee’ Amina Mohammed as speaker at the King Fahd Mosque - 1998
At the Inauguration of the King Fahd mosque, Ibn Taymiyyah Foundation, in 1998, SaLee’ Amina gave a short speech in acknowledgment of the generosity of His Majesty King Fahd, in his generous sponsorship of the mosque, through a generous donation of $8 million USD, in addition to further operating costs. SaLee’ Amina’s speech also acknowledged the admirable work of His Highness Prince Abdul Aziz Bin Fahd Al-Saud, whose dutiful attention to assuring the completion of the beautiful King Fahd mosque SaLee’ Amina stated that Prince Abdul Aziz was an example to all Muslim young people. Throughout the Inauguration of the mosque, and also at the event held afterwards in Washington, both of which were attended by SaLee’ Amina, she initiated the children’s programs in which a giant ‘Thank You’ card was created by the Muslim children for King Fahd and Prince Abdul Aziz and gifts were presented to everyone in the Saudi delegation, all of which was paid for by SaLee’ Amina. She also provided her chauffeured limousine for the use of the VIP guests. The Director of the King Fahd mosque, Saudi businessman, Sheikh Khalil Al-Khalil, stated that Dr. SaLee’ Amina Mohammed could use his office at the King Fahd mosque at any time, and he suggested that she head a women’s program and school at the mosque’s facilities.
His Highness Prince Abdul Aziz Bin Fahd Al-Saud was acknowledged in Dr. SaLee' Amina's speach at the inauguration of the King fahd mosque.
Dr. SaLee’ Amina Mohammed was a Speaker at the United Nations International Day of the Family and L.A. Sports Arena

Nevertheless, despite severe retaliation against her, the results were extraordinary. A California Superior Court Judge, a Deputy District Attorney Prosecutor, a County Sheriff and 23 Law Enforcement Officers were reported by SaLee’ Amina Mohammed for corruption, abuse of power, oppression of Civil Rights; as well as unethical, dishonorable, illegal and/or criminal acts. Of these, 18 were criminally prosecuted & convicted & sentenced to prison. Some are still in Federal penitentiaries. Despite the danger & consequences, SaLee’ Amina spoke truth to power. The retaliation against her was extraordinary & life-threatening.
SaLee’ Amina, An Honorary Ambassador, but, Multi Faceted, like a Diamond:
In the 1980s and 1990’s SaLee’ Amina designed jewelry, concurrently with her career in investments, business, negotiating, diplomacy & law. She represented some of the world’s most unique and largest collections of precious gems and jewelry, and created custom art objects for members of Royal Families in the Arabian Gulf, which were presented in Saudi Arabia by her former business associate, His Highness Prince Mutaaz Bin Saud Al-Saud. (Prince Mutaaz was a son of the former King Saud, and he was Deputy Director of the Saudi Arabian National Guard during the time that the Director of the Saudi National Guard was The Crown Prince of Saudi, who later went on to become His Majesty King Abdulla Bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud.)
This gave SaLee’ Amina close contact for business transactions affiliated with His Majesty King Abdulla.
In 1981, SaLee’ was hired by His Highness Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al-Nahyan

Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan (technically, a distant relative - Some of SaLee’ Amina’s father’s Italian heritage had partially originated from the Bani Yas tribe, of the Hydramawt.)
In April 1981, SaLee’ Amina was directly hired, face-to-face, by His Highness Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al-Nahyan, who was the Ruler of Abu Dhabi and the founder and the first President of the United Arab Emirates. The meetings took place at the Beau Rivage hotel in Lausanne, Switzerland, where SaLee’ Amina was Vice President of the World Gold Association. Sheikh Zayed hired SaLee’ Amina to handle investments of his in Europe and America. At the time, Sheikh Zayed was listed in the Guinness Book of World records as having the Highest Income in the world, a position he held for decades, unchallenged. SaLee’ Amina did some business with three of the wealthiest men who followed, in the years thereafter.
SaLee’ Amina, as much at home with Arabian Culture as with American Culture
SaLee’ Amina was first invited to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by Her Highness Princess Noaf Bint Abdul Aziz Al-Saud, from the immediate family of King Ibn Saud. SaLee’ Amina was often hired as SPECIAL ADVISOR, or as an Investment Advisor or professional negotiator to several high ranking members of ruling families. One of SaLee’ Amina’s former business associates, Mr. Grant, was the first pilot to King Ibn Saud, the first King of Saudi Arabia. Mr. Grant was on loan from TWA, Trans World Airlines, to the first Saudi Airlines, which consisted at the time of only one plane. SaLee’ Amina and Mr. Grant went on to present extraordinary collections of jewelry to Rulers in the Arabian Gulf.
SaLee’ Amina Mohammed holds a multiple entry BUSINESS visa to Saudi Arabia.
In the 1980s, SaLee’ Amina arranged several meetings for the negotiation of Air Defense equipment between manufacturers in the United States and representatives of Arabian Gulf countries. These negotiations included military jets (F-16, F15, F 14-A), military helicopters (Apache & Cobra), fast boats for the Saudi Royal Navy, AWACS, tow missiles, laser guidance systems surface to air interceptors.
SaLee’ Amina’s former business associate, Admiral Herbert Spenser “Spense” Mathews (Retired) had been the highest decorated Admiral in the history of the United States Navy. Some meetings were carried out with the involvement of the U.S. Deputy Secretary of Defense and some meetings required clearance from the United States State Department. The most astounding thing about all of her work in creating military alliances between USA and Arabian Gulf countries is that she refused any commissions, and waived the 10% payments offered to her, in lieu of all U.S. manufacturers giving discounts on the prices directly to the end-buyer Gulf countries.
The resulting multi-billions of dollars in Defense contracts would have profited SaLee’ Amina hundreds of millions of dollars. SaLee’ Amina has worked with several high ranking Heads of State, Princes, Emirs, Sheikhs and leading businessmen in the Arabian Gulf, and throughout the Arab and Islamic world.
